Promoting Democratic Values Among Youth- Collection of Essays of University Students and Professors from Slovakia, Serbia, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro

In 2017 MESA 10 organization from Bratislava, Slovakia in partnership with Center for Euro-Atlantic Studies (CEAS) from Belgrade, Serbia implemented fourth round of Student debates, a project implemented with the support of National Endowment for democracy from USA. In this publication MESA 10 and Center for Euro-Atlantic Studies (CEAS) present essays written by professors and students of the Universities participating in the project - “Promoting Democratic Values among Youth”.

Promoting Democratic Values Among Youth – Student Debates 2016/2017- Key Findings of the Survey

In 2017, MESA10 from Bratislava, Slovakia and CEAS from Belgrade, Serbia jointly implemented fourth round of Student debates, a project supported by National Endowment for democracy from USA. We continued to work with two universities from Serbia (the University of Belgrade and University of Novi Sad) and two from Slovakia (Comenius University of Bratislava and Matej Bel University of Banska Bystrica) as partners for the project. The project expanded to include a university from:Bosnia and Herzegovina (International University of Sarajevo), from Montenegro (University of Montenegro) and from Moldova (Academy of Economic Studies of Chisinau).

CEAS New Report - BASIC INSTINCT- Executive Summary, Conclusions and Recommendations

 The Study Basic Instinct – The Case for More NATO in The Western Balkans is a result of a year long research conducted under the CEAS project Continued fulfillment of IPAP Commitments – Stepping closer to NATO, supported by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) from the USA.

The Study particularly  addresses  four  underlying issues common to all countries of the Western Balkans: incomplete transitional justice processes;  incomplete security sector reforms; constitutionally or otherwise embedded solutions that propel an illiberal politicization of ethnicities; and internationally led or sponsored processes that may serve short-term goals, but are implemented in a way that undermines the separation of powers, strengthening of independent institutions and  decision-making processes in already poorly governed countries of the Region.

Vodič kroz informacionu bezbednost u Republici Srbiji

Centar za evroatlantske studije predstavlja Vam Vodič kroz informacionu bezbednost u Republici Srbiji, objavljen u projekta Srbija ide napred: Mapiranje normativnog okvira informacione bezbednosti, koji je podržala Misija OEBSa u Srbiji. Cilj Vodiča je da ukaže na obaveze koje proističu iz članstva i učešća Srbije u međunarodnim telima i organizacijama, ali i koje mogućnosti ovo članstvo pruža za razvoj politika i kapaciteta u ovoj oblasti. Vodič obuhvata postojeći normativni okvir, strategije, principe i preporuke tela kao što su Evropska unija, NATO, Organizacija za evropsku bezbednost i saradnju i Ujedinjene nacije.

2016 Debates of University Students from Serbia and Slovakia Strengthening Debating Skills and Promoting Democratic Values among Youth

In 2015, the Center for Euro-Atlantic Studies (CEAS) and its partner, M.E.S.A. 10, continued the implementation of a project of innovative online debates between university students from Serbia and Slovakia. The project aims at promoting democratic values, strengthening debating skills and encouraging independent and critical thinking among university students in both Serbia and Slovakia. In cooperation with two universities from Serbia and two from Slovakia, two series of lectures and two debate tournaments on Euro-Atlantic integration, with a special emphasis on NATO, were organized.
